His castle
Peter Gillis recently went through life as a proud lord of the castle. He is the owner of Genenbroek Castle in Achel (Belgium). A special gem with a 17-hectare garden and several outbuildings (... which, by the way, he will not convert into vacation homes, we'll help you out of that dream already! ;-)). Peter himself is very charmed by the chapel that stands in the garden. A beautiful place where he can commemorate his beloved mother.
A little history lesson
The domain was first mentioned in 1496, when it was a farm and hunting lodge of the lords of Grevenbroek. Around 1758 a new castle was built by the noble family De Hubens and in 1882-1885 Peissant de Theux de Meylandt had it rebuilt, giving the castle its current appearance. The authentic Castle Genenbroek with a 17-hectare garden and several outbuildings, has been owned by Peter Gillis since 2021.

Met dit bijzondere 'optrekje' in zijn bezit hoopt Peter een bijzondere titel te krijgen. Als je in België aan een aantal eisen voldoet kun je de titel baron krijgen. Dat lijkt Peter wel wat.
Grootse plannen
Bij een groot kasteel horen grootste plannen. Zo is Peter direct na de aankoop van het kasteel druk in de weer gegaan om het kasteel volledig te laten restaureren in orginele staat en de authentieke elementen te behouden. Wij zijn erg benieuwd naar het uiteindelijke resultaat! In 2025 zal Peter hier intrek nemen.
