11th edition of the ‘Verwenevent’

Posted: 14-11-2016

Asten, 14 November 2016 – On 11, 12 and 13 November the eleventh edition of the annual VerwenEvent took place at Oostappen Holiday Park Prinsenmeer. A free weekend away for families with handicapped children, for whom this would not normally be possible.

At Oostappen Group Holiday Park Prinsenmeer more than 150 deluxe chalets were ready to fulfil the holiday dreams of these special guests.

The subtropical swimming paradise, various activities with the entertainment team, special guests, live music; everything is possible during this weekend. Everything is laid on, from ice creams, clowns, a juggler, a children’s musical, to a fantastic evening show.

This year’s musical opening was provided by mystery guest Frans Duijts, and this heralded yet another successful weekend for the guests, of being thoroughly spoiled. The VerwenEvent is made possible by many volunteers and a number of sponsors, with Peter Gillis and his Oostappen Holiday Parks Group as chief sponsor. ‘It is just wonderful to see the happy faces of all these people; I think it’s really fantastic. These families are so grateful’, says Peter Gillis.

For the children, but also their parents, this represents a weekend of carefree enjoyment and a well earned holiday. After seeing and experiencing so much happiness Peter Gillis would never dream of not following this up next year. So we can start looking forward now to the twelfth edition of the VerwenEvent, which is already in the pipeline in the light of this promise.
