It all began in 1986 with the purchase of Strandbad Oostappen for 4.25 million guilders. Now, nearly 30 years later, and thanks to the tireless efforts of Peter, his family and personnel, this has resulted in a recreation empire of 765 hectares valued at 205 million euros. With bank borrowings of just 65 million euros it is fair to say that there are significant reserves behind the business.
These amounts have also not gone unnoticed by Quote 500, leading to the listing in Quote 500, at position 290. Peter remains laconic about this; “We have all earned this recognition together. Together with my two sons, my daughter and all the personnel we will just carry on building for the future!”
